Maryland Hoopfest is open to all players, both male and female.

What do I get if I play?
Each player will receive a Maryland Hoopfest reversible jersey and an official hoopfest t-shirt. Top teams will receive prizes.

How do I register?

How is the Tournament Set-Up?

What are the Rules & Regulations?
Click here, or please refer to the "Rules" page of this website.

How many players can be on a team?
Each team must have 3 players, and they are allowed to have one additional player on the roster as a substitute at no extra charge IF included on the registration form (a fourth player can be added on tournament day for a $25 charge). The fourth player is optional, and is limited to one individual throughout the tournament. If a team with four players on their roster loses a player during the tournament to injury or other obligation, they are NOT allowed to replace that player.

How many games is each team guaranteed?
Maryland Hoopfest guarantees two (2) scheduled games.

How long is each game?
All games will be played to 15 points with a 25 minute time limit (which ever comes first). Winning by two points is NOT a requirement.

Can you register for Maryland Hoopfest as an individual and be placed on a team?
Unfortunately, Maryland Hoopfest does not take individual players and put them on a team. You MUST sign up as a part of a team, all on the same registration form, in order to participate.

Will I get a confirmation letter, when my team registered?
Yes; however, the tournament schedule is not in place until the Monday before the tournament, and therefore will only be added to the website shortly before the tournament. Your team will also be notified via email of your first game time and also sent a copy of the bracket as soon as they are available.

If I do not receive confirmation that our registration has been successful, what should I do?
If you do not receive a contact within one week of your registration, please email us at info@spectrumsportspromotions.com

Can my team request an earlier or later start time?
Unfortunately, that is not possible. In order to be fair and to not show any favoritism, first game times and seedings are randomly chosen. Games times and bracket seedings cannot be adjusted in order to accommodate teams. If you cannot make your first game time, it will be recorded as a forfeit, and you will be able to play in the next scheduled game in the loser's bracket. However, your forfeited game will be included as one of your two guaranteed games.

One or more of my players won't be able to participate. Can I replace them with someone else?
Roster changes are not allowed after check-in. For this reason, it is a good idea to utilize the fourth optional player, for instances such as a player being injured and unable to continue. A team can finish a game with two players, but cannot start a game with two players.
If the roster change can be made BEFORE the day of the tournament, it might be allowed as long as it does not affect the team's division placement. For such roster changes, contact info@spectrumsportspromotions.com and explain the desired change.

What if there aren't enough teams to form a division?
If there are not enough teams to form a division, each team in that division will be contacted and given the option to play in the other division or the opportunity to receive their money back.

If I am under 18, do my parents have to be present?
Your parents do not need to be present, but your parent or guardian will be responsible for signing waiver on registration forms.

Does each player need an ID while at the event?
Yes. Each player should bring his Driver's License to check-in (if under 16, other picture ID is required).

Is each player required to check-in?
Yes. Each player must check-in at least thirty minutes before their first game in order to sign a waiver form and have their picture ID checked. A player cannot participate until these things have been completed.

What time does the tournament start and how long will it last?
The tournament will start at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and, depending on the number of participating teams, the tournament should be over by 4:00 p.m on Sunday.

Will there be snacks or refreshments on site?
Yes. Full service concessions will be available to all participants.

Do spectators have to pay to watch tournament play?
No. Spectators have free admission to the tournament.
